Fashion brand LSKD partners with Google drone delivery service Wing

In what is a first for Queensland, Australian lifestyle fashion brand LSKD has officially partnered with Google's drone delivery service Wing.

From today, customers in Logan, Queensland, can receive orders from LSKD in as little as ten minutes via drone.

LSKD is following in the footsteps of retailers like The Iconic and Drummond Golf who have already been delivering goods via Google's drone delivery platform Wing in Canberra.

The fashion brand is the first fashion retailer to join the platform in Logan, joining local businesses Extraction Artisan Coffee, Harmony on Carmody Café, Browns Plains Hardwareand the Crestmead Friendly Grocer.

Founder and director of LSKD Jason Daniel (pictured right), who grew up in Logan, says it is exciting to be at the forefront of delivery-tech and logistics.

"It's an insane feeling being the first street/lifestyle clothing brand to launch air delivery with Wing in Queensland," says Daniel.

"It's not only going to help deliver orders to customers quicker in the areas they have launched but helping us at LSKD grow our innovation and offer a seamless, game-changing experience."

The LSKD partnership with Wing will initially launch with the brand's summer collection, including tees, shorts, denim, headwear, dresses and activewear tights.

Wing's Australian Head of Operations Terrance Bouldin-Johnson (pictured left) says he is happy that the first local fashion retailer to join the drone delivery platform is a local.

"LSKD is the first lifestyle clothing brand to join Wing's drone delivery service in Logan, and we're delighted that it's a Queensland based business, with a founder who grew up in the local community," says Bouldin-Johnson.

"We're pleased to be working with the LSKD team to bring their premium clothing and accessories to Wing customers in Logan, delivered to them within minutes through air delivery."

The Wing pilot program in Logan follows a successful trail in Canberra, where businesses like Guzman y Gomez, Bakers Delight, and other local retailers have been delivering to customers in the ACT since 2017.

Google launched the Wing delivery solution in Logan in September 2017, with the American tech giant citing the growing population and history of drone technology in the area as the reason why it was selected for the second trial.

"I thought if LSKD could partner with Wing, it would be huge to be one of the first brands in Australia to deliver by drone," says Daniel.

"Come launch day, our customers will be able to place an order on a Friday afternoon and receive it within minutes, just in time for the weekend."
