INSTITCHU'S GRAND DESIGNS ON BRISBANE

BRISBANE has made the cut for InStitchu, with the online men's tailor opening its new showroom in Queen Street Mall.

It's the first Queensland location for the Sydney-based business, following its launch in Melbourne late last year.

InStitchu co-founder Robin McGowan says expanding to the river city has been on the cards for some time to crack the market.

"Just like the Sydney and Melbourne showrooms, our new heritage Queen Street location aims to create a seamless and memorable experience for our customers with a unique combination of old-world charm and technology," McGowan says.

"While some customers are comfortable providing their measurements and placing their order online, some feel that it's important to visit a physical store and get a feel for the quality of the fabrics.

"For us it's about matching the customer with the perfect suit and if we can build the confidence of consumers, it can last throughout many purchases."

Since launching in 2012, InStitchu has achieved consistent growth to facilitate the move into bricks-and-mortar establishments.

InStitchu co-founder James Wakefield says there is huge potential for the business in the bespoke product market.

The menswear market has been forecast to reach $40 billion in worldwide sales by 2019, according to data by Euromonitor International.

"Today's consumers are undergoing a generational shift becoming more style-conscious and demanding to be different," Wakefield says.

"InStitchu caters to the type of shopper who appreciates and prioritises a beautifully crafted product with excellent fit over slavish devotion to trend."

With the launch of their third showroom and plans for three more, Wakefield says adding scale to the business will secure more Australian men to the platform.

"Our research shows that once fitted in a showroom, the majority of customers will then complete all future orders online," he says.

"The way today's man designs and buys suits has changed, and InStitchu is just getting started. We're looking forward to helping more Aussie men get better fitting suits through more locations around the country."

The new InStitchu showroom is located at the heritage building on 180 Queen Street.
