Early-stage investment group Investible has promoted Charlie Ill to the role of chief executive officer (CEO) following the resignation of Rod Bristow, who leaves the company after four years of service and contributing to the launch of two new funds.

With more than a decade in venture capital under his belt with deep expertise in the Southeast Asia market, Ill joined Investible as chief investment officer (CIO) in late 2022.

Prior to joining Investible, his experience included working at Red Dot Ventures and the EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy in Singapore, managing the Oman Tech Fund, and the Northern Territory Government’s investment and major project facilitation agency, Investment Territory.

Since Ill came on board, Investible has continued to play an active role in supporting Australian and international startups that require patient capital or scaling capacity, from hydrogen injection technology to sustainable textile manufacturing and logistics coordination software, among numerous other specialty niches.

"Charlie has been instrumental in driving the success of our investment strategy and deeply understands what it takes to excel in this competitive market," says Investible co-founder and chair Trevor Folsom.

"His leadership, insight, and extensive venture capital experience make him the ideal choice to guide Investible forward. We’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead under Charlie’s stewardship."

Under the American's leadership, the firm expects to continue leveraging its deep networks, industry expertise, and proprietary deal-sourcing capabilities.

"Our focus remains on being a specialised, regional VC with a proven track record of identifying and supporting high-potential founders and companies," says Ill.

"Investible has always been about investing in people, their ideas, and their potential.

"The entrepreneurial spirit that has driven our success, combined with the institutional strength we've developed, gives us a unique edge. I look forward to building on the strong foundation we’ve established."

The Investible board has thanked Bristow for his contributions during his tenure and looks forward to Charlie Ill leading the firm into a "new chapter".
