A SYDNEY startup is attracting millennial job hunters with its app that makes recruitment as easy as swiping left or right on Tinder.
Found Careers is a free mobile platform that streamlines the hiring process by matching employers with candidates.
Job seekers create a profile with their skills and experience, peruse job opportunities posted by businesses on the app and instantly apply without the need for a resume or cover letter.
Co-founders Andrew Joyce and Peter Marchiori developed the concept last year, after struggling to find staff fast enough to keep up with growth at their previous business.
"We believe that Found can revolutionise the way employers connect with job seekers - from the sole trader running a café, through to some of Australia's largest companies," Joyce says.
"The shift from desktop to mobile platforms is just as big as the shift from offline to online advertising 15 years ago, and in that case, none of the major market players from the 90s successfully made the shift.
"Australian businesses spend billions of dollars every year on recruiting staff and it's incredibly inefficient, as anyone who's ever had to wade through a pile of hundreds of CVs or fill out endless forms with all of the data that's already in your CV will tell you."
The app was launched in February after raising $1.5 million in seed funding, with major investors including Red Bull Racing V8 Supercars team owner Roland Dane and serial entrepreneur Simon Henderson.
The app has since recorded more than 30,000 downloads, processed more than 3 million 'swipes' and 100,000 job applications. Clients range from owner-operator small businesses to retail giants like Cotton On.
Marchiori says Found is the first platform of its kind to challenge the traditional recruitment process.
"When we built Found, we ignored what every other jobs platform was doing, and focused on the best apps that young people use on a daily basis," Marchiori says.
"We're the first mobile site where every single job we have listed can be applied to without ever leaving your smartphone, or needing to upload a CV.
"To hire the next generation of employees, companies need to go to where they are - and that's on a mobile device."
