ALLIANCE AVIATION BOLSTERS MINING CONTRACTS

ALLIANCE Aviation Services (ASX:AQZ) has extended its contracts for South32's Cannington and Gemco mines for another three years.

The Brisbane-based company first partnered with the Western Australian resources company to deliver air services to Cannington in 2006, followed by Gemco in 2009.

Alliance CEO Lee Schofield says the extension demonstrates the company's reputation as the leading provider of contract and ad hoc air charter services in Australia.

"We are very proud of this extension as it provides great acknowledgement of our ability to provide South32 with a safe, integrated, reliable and cost-effective air services," Schofield says.

"I would also like to acknowledge the contribution of our team in North Queensland, where we have long established permanent regional offices with dedicated aircraft, crew and maintenance facilities to service our Queensland and Northern Territory customers."

Alliance has renewed eight contracts in the last 12 months, as well as secured the Santos contract for the Cooper Basin and a weekly service for Toll Services to Christmas Island.

The contracts for both mines have been extended through to 2019.
