REDFLOW CLOSE TO INSTALLING FIRST RESIDENTIAL BATTERIES
THE first of Redflow's (ASX: RFX) ZCell battery systems will be installed in Australian homes in October following the arrival of a crucial part of the system from the United States.

The Brisbane-based company announced today that the ZBM2 batteries, manufactured by Flex, had arrived in Australia and are clearing customs.

The batteries are the core component of the ZCell home energy storage systems that Reflow is distributing throughout Australia and also worldwide.

The batteries are a zinc bromide flow battery, an innovative new technology that has emerged as a competitor to the ubiquitous lithium-ion batteries that competitors such as Tesla will manufacture.

"While Redflow has undertaken extensive field testing of these products and their deployment, we plan to carefully stage, monitor, and manage all initial customer deliveries to ensure this unique residential energy storage product performs as specified at customer premises," says the company in a statement to the ASX today.

The management systems that will work alongside the battery are ready for distribution right now, says Redflow. The company will release details of the first group of Australian companies that will be approved to install the battery systems later this week.

Retail customers are just one market being targeted by Redflow, which will also provide larger storage options for commercial customers.

Redflow is trading up 6.94 per cent at $0.38 per share today.
