Ze Pickle sets sights on Sunshine Coast

A Gold Coast burger institution that has spread it wings to Brisbane and Sydney now has a new destination in its sights - Noosa.

Founded in Burleigh Heads by Nathan Zuckerman, Aaron Wilson and Joey Day in 2012, Ze Pickle prides itself on craft beer, good "unpretentious food" and quality beats.

It's a formula that saw the group expand to two Brisbane locations in Fortitude Valley and Camp Hill, as well as Surry Hills in Sydney.

Now Ze Pickle has signed a 10-year lease to set up shop at 5 Sunshine Beach Road in Noosa Junction, in the same spot where a KFC restaurant had stood for more than 30 years.

KFC decided to move from the site after opening a drive through restaurant in nearby Noosaville.

"We had strong interest in the property due to it being one of the only freehold opportunities available locally and it having strong street presence," says Paul Butler of Ray White Commercial Noosa, who marketed and leased the property with property consultant Louisa Blennerhassett.

"This is a landmark, standalone site in Noosa Junction, and we wanted to make sure we could do it justice by bringing a quality and unique brand to Noosa Junction.

"Noosa Junction is home to some of Noosa's most popular restaurant and bar venues and is prevalent with both locals and tourists."

Blennerhassett highlights the Ze Pickle franchise concept has a "cult-like" following.

"They have been looking for Sunshine Coast sites for some time and are aiming to open in the coming weeks," she says.

"Known for their craft beers and inimitable selection of burgers and bar snacks, this will be Ze Pickle's first Sunshine Coast location.

"We were very pleased to be able to assist the owner, also a Noosa local, to secure a quality concept for the site. The restaurant will be open in time for the busy summer trade, and their signature style is sure to be popular."
